The Derby runs rain or shine!
"The Great Duck Derby" is a family fun day at Mead Garden, featuring the famous little rubber duck races and tons of kid-friendly activities.
Thanks to our fine flock of Duck Derby sponsors, it's just $5 to adopt a race duck and all other activities are FREE!
Race and Activity Schedule
10:00 a.m. Duck Adoption and Activities begin (see list of activities below)
11:00 a.m. Welcome by Emcee Frank Hamner and special guest Scott Maxwell
11:05 a.m. Big Beautiful Sponsor Race
11:15 a.m. Silly Song Sing-Along with Mr. Harley
11:45 a.m. Little Duck Family Race #1
12:30 p.m. Little Duck Family Race #2
1:15 p.m. Little Duck Family Race #3
Parking in the Garden is limited. Overflow parking lot at corner of Orange Ave. and Denning. Complimentary shuttle generously provided by Park, Bark & Fly. Pack a picnic or grab lunch, hot dog or a sweet treat from food trucks, including Jeremiah's. Enter drawing to win free week at Mead's Young Naturalist Summer Camp. All proceeds benefit children's nature education programs at Mead.
Duckoration station where kids get their race ducks ready, baby chick and bunny animal encounter, nature hikes and scavenger hunts, bounce houses, silly song sing-along with Mr. Harley, the Winter Park Fire Department's big red engine, crafts and games, and more! Free tree give away by the Winter Park Urban Forestry department.

For just $5, adopt a duck or pick up a Quack Pack -- adopt 4 ducks for $20 and get a 5th duck free! Credit Cards welcome.

Duck Derby family activities include:

The first race is at 11 a.m., followed by a little rubber duck race at 11:15 a.m., then silly song sing-a-long with Mr. Harley at 11:45 a.m. and two more little rubber duck races between 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. Prizes for the top three in each race. Enter to win a free one-week registration to the Mead Garden Young Naturalist Summer Camp. A $225 value!
Bring your picnic blankets, take a hike along the creek, and enjoy the great outdoors. Food, drinks and sweet treats, as well as Duck Derby t-shirts and whistles will be available for purchase.
The races begin at 11 a.m. with the Sponsor race, featuring a flock of fancy, duckorated Big Beautiful Race Ducks. Come cheer them on!
