Thomas Tart, a fifth generation Floridian and 30-year General Counsel for the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), will be the guest speaker at the January 11 Life Explorers Series at Mead Botanical Garden. Tart will enlighten attendees on the impact OUC has made over its 100-year history on the growth and development of Central Florida. OUC was a major force in water and electrical system projects in the early years of our fast-growing community and Tart had a front row seat on all the developments.
Tart attended the University of Florida and was a member of the Florida Gator football team. He went on to earn the University’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He received his law degree from Stetson University and started his law career working at OUC, eventually achieving the position of Vice President. Tart is also a Civil War buff and an expert on transportation in the Central Florida area.
The presentation is free of charge and coffee and light refreshments are served.
