About
Mead Botanical Garden is a 48-acre urban oasis located in the heart of Orange County in beautiful Winter Park.
- The Garden is OPEN DAILY from dawn until dusk and is FREE to the public.
- Well-behaved dogs are welcome in most areas of the Garden provided they remain on a leash and that their owner picks up after them as needed.
Projects
As the community comes together to remember, revision’, restore, repurpose and recreate this unique site, areas of the garden begin to show the results. It’s complex and ongoing. The Grove, the wetlands, the boardwalk, the little “Blue” house that’s not blue but is dedicated to ‘blue (water), the Legacy Garden around the greenhouse, the sandhill ecosystem, the pollinator gardens, the community garden, the trailhead and trails, the clay pit, the gatehouse…. on and on. All of these projects are driven by the MBG Vision and the master planning overall ‘project.’
